(Recommendation: 5/24/14)

Hello all!  As I said for the last two recommendations, I’m looking though my “back-log” of stories that I wanted to recommend for any that are also nominated for the You Want Blood Awards, which you can still vote for here.

Also, if you haven’t already, don’t forget to read the stories written for Seph’s Writing Challenge!  You can do that here.

So–here’s today’s recommendation.

The Choice by Wylis

I’m so glad that Wylis “hijacked” season 4 and rewrote it! She starts this particular tale right after Sookie takes Bill’s blood after being shot. Her spin is to change the dream Sookie had. I enjoy any story where Sookie looks inside and figures out what is logically the best thing for her. And I love an Eric who trusts her to do this and encourages her as she does–an Eric who is strong enough to accept the fact that he’s found himself in love and doesn’t stop being a bad-ass because of it. This is a satisfying and relatively quick read–what my mom always called an excellent “rainy day read.” There’s also a lovely sequel called Heaven in this Choice if you want to extend your reading.

Ooh. That’s a good one. I read it when it was first written, but I’m going to go back now and read it again since none of my favorite authors (wink, wink) have posted anything in days. 😉

This is an excellent choice. Wylis’ rewrite of S4 is better than the original, better than the book. This is one of my most favorite stories. Wylis rights all the wrongs, and the HEA is… ahhh… quite satisfying. This is a MUST READ for any TB/SVM fanfic reader! Once again, Kat makes a wonderful recommendation!
