Dead Addict: DEAD OR UNDEAD

(Recommended 3/24/13)

If you are like me, you are always looking for a good Eric/Sookie fanfic to read, so I’m going to start highlighting one of my favorites each week or so.  I won’t be going in any particular order.  Since I started reading, I’ve kept a list of those that I want to eventually read again, so I’ll begin with those, again in no particular order (except that it will start with the things that I’ve completed most recently).

However, I’ll only be doing completed works–those completed by the author and those that I have read completely.

If you haven’t read my pick for the week, I hope that you will check it out and enjoy it.

Dead or Undead (and its sequel Dead or Deader) by Dead Addict

I love the way Sookie learns to accept Eric and his importance in her life, even as she clings to her own identity.  And the Eric in this work is fiercely devoted to Sookie–to the point that he is willing to die for her (though not in a way that seems like a cliche).  The author is true to the Eric and Sookie of the books, but takes them to what they “could” be if they just took one step toward each other.  I like the way Dead Addict shows how that little step–that moment of trust–would turn into something amazing.es16

Please let me know if she posts anywhere else. Would love to give it a shot but I don’t read on FFn anymore. Too many things have disappeared due to their censorship.

Have you read this one, Mistress? I know that you have read tons! I found this one when I was just randomly looking for older stories on ff.net.

Yea I know about Flagfic. Use it on other sites often. I usually don’t on FFn for 2 reasons. 1) I don’t want to give them the clickthru traffic which generates their funding 2) I really like to give feedback/Reviews to authors.
But thanks for the suggestions ladies.

I have a solution of sorts for you–something that I do so that I will be sure to get through something before it goes away. There’s a website: https://www.flagfic.com/pdf. If you go to it, it will convert a file from fanfiction.net into a PDF! It’s so cool (and easier to read on my kindle too). Just go to that site, put in the web address for the first chapter of the fanfic you want, select .pdf format, and it’s a go! It’s quick and easy and it solves the problem of things perchance disappearing before you can complete them. I just erase the stories when I’m done with them (or keep them if I want to read them again).

I’ll try. I’m still working on an email for you to tell you more about the new all human story I’m working on. I finally had time to write a little today, and it feels so nice. Healing even. But you–more than anyone–know how I am with writing.

Oh–and I cried during this one b/c of angst, so you will love it. Plus, it’s not that long so you can get in and out of it without getting captured. (Like I know you do!) 😉

You’re welcome. I really liked both the original and the sequel! I just came across it about three weeks ago.

Me too! I always try to wait until something is done before I read it, though there are some things that I don’t do that with. But I love it when I find a finished gem.

Thank you so much for doing this. I am always looking for great stories to read. It’s hard to find them sometimes.

I used the link you have here for the story. Fanfiction used to have a search box so you could find stories by title or author. That box doesn’t work anymore. Does anyone know how to make it work now? This is very frustrating!

I see a search box in the upper right corner. I tried it, and it worked okay. I hope you find it.

Thanks for the reply. Back to the search box, I see it but there is no way for me to search. I put in a title or author then nothing. There is no way to launch a search. Usually there is a place to click on. Now there is nothing there to click on. I’m going a little crazy here trying to figure this out.

I believe that was from Vanity Fair. It is cool–isn’t it. Of course, I added the caption. Sometimes, I cannot help myself. 😉
