In honor of the You Want Blood Awards, I’m going to be recommending some of my favorite stories from among the nominees to add to my overall recommended reading list–which already has lots of nominees.
There’s still time to vote for all your favorites here. If you haven’t already voted or if you don’t already have your favorites, I hope you will consider the following:
Tales of the Dead by Kjwrit
Kjwrit is one of my favorite authors–period! And this story has the perfect balance of humor and drama/action. In it, Eric is the “disabled one.” And I love the way that Kjwrit captures him (as the story is told from his POV). There was something about Eric’s story here–his feelings of isolation and then hope–that just tugged on me.
This story is nominated for the “Who the Hell are You Award” and the “Blah, Blah, Vampire Emergency Award.” And Kjwrit is nominated for the favorite author award. I’m in the latter two categories with her, and I’m honored to be there b/c she’s awesome!
If you haven’t read her stuff, I hope you will give it a try. If you have, then I imagine that you–like me–have already voted for lots of her works!
