I haven’t “officially” recommended this story yet because–in my mind–everyone has already read it multiple times since it’s so good. I was telling Seph the other day that I keep track of the stories I read in a spreadsheet (anal–I know). I even rank the stories from 1 to 5 stars. And–as an English teacher–you can imagine how stingy I am with 5-stars (which is an A++ in my world). I have to be jealous of the author, wishing that I’d have written the piece. I have to be envious of the author, knowing that I could never have done it because the other person has talents I don’t. And I have to be in awe enough to put my own ego to the side to admit sweet, sweet “defeat” in the wake of the author’s prowess. That is what I felt like when I read this story–jealous, envious, and in awe. It’s set early in Season 4 and so vividly and concisely written that I could imagine Alexander Skarsgard chewing through the lines with tremendous gusto. Ficlit’s Pretty Kitty has and will continue to be one of my favorites too, but this story may just very well be my FAVORITE favorite–which reminds me–I should go read it again! I love it so much I even made a banner for it, though my banners aren’t that good. See! I’ve been reduced to paltry offers of worship!

I second Kat’s recommendation. I absolutely love this story! It’s also one of my favorites. If you haven’t already read it, you definitely should. Well? What are you waiting for? Go. Now. 😉

And so the motion is carried… As Switbo said, what are you waiting for? Seriously, go read this story now! Let’s say you have a scale of 1-10. This story is a 20! Like Kat, this is one of favorite Favorites!

Thanks Gina. I figure that if people like my writing, they might also like my taste. And I know that I love to come across a completed story I haven’t read yet. And ficlit is one of the best!

Good concept. Excellent plot. Amazing characterization. Yep–very jealous. And I bow to your lemon-writing (deeply bow). So–uh–when can we expect more kitty? Not that I chew through my nails between every chapter or anything (but my tea-drinking-stick-out-needing-pinkie fingernail is in danger).
