let’sgetthoughtful: TEETH IN THE GRASS

(Recommended 5/23/14)

Hello!  I have another recommendation for you.  First of all–let me say this: a lot of wonderful new authors have joined our community over the last year or so!  And one of the best–in my opinion–is let’sgetthoughtful.  I discovered the story that I’m recommending today on a Tuesday morning (when I was procrastinating from grading and writing).  I couldn’t “put it down” until I was done w/ it.

Teeth in the Grass by let’sgetthoughtful

There’s something very thoughtful and thought-provoking about the way that Eric and Sookie fall in love in this story. There are many lemons and–as far as plot goes–there’s more emotional drama than action, but if you like studies of “human” (and vampire and fairy) nature, you will probably like this.  This is a “new” writer to our community.  I hope you will check out his/her work!

Thanks, Kat! I’ve been going through all the “new” stories as I’ve had time, and this is the one I’ve got slated to read next! It makes me want to rush over to it right away, but I’ve got emails & other work I’ve been neglecting, so I’ll continue to neglect the work & finish the emails! Go straight to reading & don’t collect $200 for passing “Go!”
Have a safe & fun-filled Memorial Day weekend!

This was one of the best finds for me this year. She is a really talented writer, diverse and complex characterization, intelligent. But for the win it is probably one of my favorite Eric sookie love professing scenes. Lol

Wow!! I took your advice and began reading this story yesterday. Ended up binging on the entire thing overnight!
Many thanks for recommending it, and for reminding us readers about the new and possibly lesser-known (but exceptionally talented!) writers out there. XO

Any time I can steal the sleep of others–LOL. This author is relatively new–at least to our fanbase. And I just loved this story. Glad you did too. 🙂

Oh, my dear Kat! I’m clinging to all of my favorite E/S fanfic stories, now more than ever!!
The TV Guide article everyone is blogging about is just another big fat reminder of the big fat “shit sandwich ” we’re about to be served. Makes my stomach turn.
I really wish I didn’t care so much about it. :/

I know. We have to prepare ourselves for Bill being the hero, Sookie going back to him (and forgetting everything in the past), and Eric being villainized and underutilized. They’ll give him Hep-D and have him attack Sookie. I bet they’ll even have Bill or Sookie be the one to kill him. Sigh. Such potential in both the shows and the books. But–you know what? I like the fanfiction better anyway. I’ve decided that they can do what they want. And I’ll do what I want, which is to keep writing and reading Eric/Sookie the right way.
    🙂
