kilara25: WE WHO ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN

Recommendation for 04/03/13

I have an extremely ansty story to recommend this week.

We Who Are Alive and Remain by kilara25

eric-sookie

This story was a very emotional read for me.  It’s relatively short and I don’t want to give too much away, but the premise is that Sookie’s mental shields basically collapse and she can hear everyone–everyone–to the point that she has to flee from them all.  She fears that the vampires–that Eric–will kill her if he figures things out.  This is a story that comes down to one thing: trust.

Check out the story on fanfiction.net.

Thank you for posting your recs. I just finished this one at lunch, and it is heart wrenching but beautifully written.

That one is an oldie but a very excellent goodie. The dialogue & the understanding of the underlying conflicts of their love story is amazing. I enjoyed re-reading it!

I have read most of the completed stories in the “True Blood” category, but I’m still working back through the Book category on fanfiction.net, so I read this story only recently. I was definitely struck by it though. It’s very emotive and captures a lot of the inherent tragedy of Eric and Sookie–as well as their love and understanding.

  2. Very glad I checked the recommendations you have here. I read this story when it was first posted and thought it was inspired. Now, 9 years later, I have experienced it again. Thank you so much.
