News Flash: Eric Triggers Avalanche!

I just have to throw a snort and a giggle into the world this morning.

Almost as soon as I saw Eric “burning” at the end of  Season 6, I thought AVALANCHE.  And then I wrote “Snjóflóð!”–which means “Avalanche!” in Old Norse/Icelandic.  Now–I’m not going to claim that the writers stole the idea from me.  Goodness knows I’ve seen the idea in more places than my story for the last year, but I am going to say this–“I knew it!”

Avalanche

avalanche 2

And just because they did my Eric/Sookie loving heart good, let me share these:

long greeting hug

Undeniable emotional reaction.

I'm still here, Sookie

Look at “poor” Bill, whose internal monologue is this: “How is he hotter than me even with Hep-V?  Hey, that rhymes.”

He died this morning

It’s significant that Sookie spends most of this episode trying not to fall apart, trying to be strong.  And here’s the moment when she lets herself be vulnerable.  It’s her most raw expression of sorrow over Alcide b/c it’s not mixed with guilt (over how he died or b/c he loved her more).  It’s a moment of her being sad that she’s lost someone she cared deeply about.  And Eric put aside his frustration–and just held her.  Two word spoken twice: “I’m sorry.”  And–unlike Bill–we know he is.  He doesn’t see Alcide’s death as a path clearer (which Bill obviously does).  Eric is sincerely sorry b/c Sookie’s in pain.  It’s funny that no matter what TIIC try to do to prop up Bill and strike down Eric, moments like this have more heart than anything else in the show combined.

long hug

Sigh.

I literally laughed out loud and said to my bf, they stole that story line from California Kat!

I love how she told Andy “We like to be held,” and then here comes Eric to do just that for her. My heart was very happy with their interaction.

I thought the same thing. And if that line and those scenes were written with a Sookie/Eric endgame, I would have to say that it was some fantastical writing.

Instead I will probably be left shaking my head in confusion.

Exactly! That’s the thing. It gave me hope and in this show, that hope is probably a very bad thing because it will leave me heartbroken at the end of everything!

I love how he just pets her to comfort her…it shows just how much he knows what she needs.

LOL. So fricking awesome! I’m sure they saw your story. Hehe!
On a slightly more melancholy note, the scenes between Eric and Sookie were….sad, bittersweet, sincere and lovely. How anyone can’t see the chemistry between them…I don’t know! But in some ways it just makes it worse to think they won’t end up together or that Eric may leave to go off and die. I don’t know what to think. I do want to know how the season goes….but at the same time I don’t *sigh*
All I can do is look forward to whatever you gift us with (and other wonderful authors) after the season is done. Anything that leaves Douchebag Compton alone and miserable 😉

I, too, dread the rest of the season. I’ve really afraid that last night gave us the last interaction we’ll see between Eric and Sookie.
And–don’t worry–I will be sure to have a “just” fate in mind for Bill–who is still an ass, by the way.

Despite his own self-proclamation that he’s not!
I agree that it was probably the last time we see them together, but it makes me wonder why they did that not quite 1/2 way into the season. They have to know that that is what we all wanted to see. What story is there left for Sookie now? Everything in Bon Temps is safe even with all the losses. Eric’s story goes on to find Sarah Newlin. She should go with him….I know, I know she won’t, b/c that would show how much she loves him just like he went to Fangtasia to help her while he’s obviously in pain and suffering because she’s more important to him than his own life, but she should dammit!

Haha, I thought of your story straight away!
I don’t understand how they are still ramming Sookeh-Behl down our faces when Anna and Alex have so much chemistry together. They are fantastic at conveying so much with their eyes when they are together. Their scenes were perfect and I love how Eric was the only person that held her and how she was able to open herself up to him. Bill loitering around in the background was hilarious.
Of course now they have to take him away from Sookie again through the Hep V and heading to Dallas so Bill can prey and manipulate her when she is at her weakest emotionally…I have a feeling I am going to hate the next episode based on the few photos I saw of it. : /

I found significance in this as well. That both had appeared to be “closed off” until seeing each other. The effect they both seemed to have on each other should be telling but given the mass amounts of inconsistency, I can’t trust it..and that makes me sad.

Their “last look” also had me wondering. I’d love to say it was them not wanting the other to go but knowing it was necessary but again, I have a bad feeling it was worse than that.

Yeah, I am finding it hard to trust the writers too after last years’ mess too.
I’m just going to keep hoping that their last look wasn’t actually their last look and that Sookie uses her rediscovered determination to help Eric. They are better together and I’m really starting to think that Sookie will be linked to a cure for Hep V.

I just wanted her to say “Eric, wait!”…but of course that won’t ever happen again. She should have least said Thank You for risking your life for me AGAIN.

*sigh* so beautiful and now I’ve got a lump in my throat sitting here at work. LOL Comfotable enough to close their eyes and relax into each other. And when she saw he was infected, I can’t remember exactly what she said…it was either “you can’t die on me” or “you can’t leave me”? Which prompted him to say I’m still here. So, does that mean she still wants him in her life? She seemed very happy to see him and genuinely upset that he’s sick. Maybe she will try to find a way to help him until he finally dies now that he helped her wipe out all the HepV vamps and 1/2 the town that belonged to the redneck malitia. We know they won’t be intimate again for fear of infecting her. *sighs again*

I know, that’s itching in the back of my mind, too. Along with her going with him, reading Sarah’s mind to figure out a key to the cure/antidote, but that’s just the story in MY head, not Sarah’s.

You’d think actually being married, that’d carry over into the show where chemistry is involved but it just doesn’t…these few minutes felt more natural and loving than anything that could be written b/t Sookie and Bill’s characters.

It was bittersweet, having a glimpse of what could be, but not believing it will happen.

I know the chemistry between Sookie and Eric is so tangible, and yet the writers want to pair her with Behl. Love the pictures of her and Eric.

I agree. I really think it has to do with A Skars as an actor. His style is quite emotive–through his eyes, his posture, a twist of the lips—–everything. I think that Anna responds to that (who wouldn’t). Stephen’s style is more “wooden” in a way. I think he consciously plays Bill like that–just a little “stiff.” Pam would call is a stick up his ass. Either way, Alex and Anna sure seem to have more visceral interactions. When given “good” stuff that makes sense, Anna is a really strong actress, and I think she responds to that kind of strength in Alex.

I think it is a testament to all 3 of their acting. I agree with everything you said about Alex, he really does carry the show no matter what they do to him or what scene he’s in (even if he does go through Kevin Bacon, Duran Duran, George Michael & Don Johnson phases). He still does it incredibly well and believably. However, the fact that the chemistry onscreen between Bill and Sookie is not there shows how good they are too since in real life Anna and Steven are in fact in love and married. Still doesn’t make me want them together, though! LOL

I haven’t seen last night’s episode yet, but I’ve read & seen plenty of pics & comments. I’m wondering if I really need to watch it now! LOL! I think I will just to see these scenes. Seems as if everyone thinks they’ll be the last we get of Eric & Sookie, so I may as well check them out. They probably come toward the end though which means I have to suffer through 45 minutes of crap. Oh well. Those scenes will make up for the others!

You are the best CaliforniaKat and I so wish you were writing TB and not those idiots in charge… I liked seeing this post although it is kind of bittersweet as it shows what could have been but clearly won’t be… The Sookie-Bill reunion, with a vamp Sookie is a given (to me) but I can’t decide if they’ll kill Eric off or not… which is find unsettling even though I’ve given up on watching the show (but the addict in me can’t avoid checking out photo recaps….). Will they or won’t they? To me that remains the only mystery… I am veering 60% they will…

Geez, can’t wait for the next Uncharted chapters…

The Eric and Sookie moments tugged on my heart strings, for sure. The rest of the episode was pretty awesome, too!! Tara Buck was hilarious, and whoever wrote this week’s episode snuck some clever stuff in there, and made it funny in all the right places! Classic Lafeyette …. spectacular Pam scenes .. really good stuff. It felt like the TrueBlood I fell in love with all those years ago! I can wait to watch it again!

While I was watching the Eric clips on youtube and when he told Sookie how he triggered an avalache I immediately thought about your story..I’m sure the writers read FF cuz I found other things similiar to FF stories….The flashbacks with Ginger were awesome..Wow fangtasia was her idea…The interaction between Eric/Sookie was so intense and wonderful…buy I still don’t trust the writers…this will be all..No HEA for them. Still 6 more episodes and then we’ll see..Take care

You know Alex plays it so well. I mean he takes the hair that has fallen out and twirls it while she is taking comfort in Eric. Its such an affectionate intimate gesture. I hope we can see more of that with the two of them….Loved the flashbacks!
