Here’s another recommendation for a story nominated for the You Want Blood Awards! Don’t forget to vote for your favorites!
The Norseman’s Women by valyria
I am usually not one to love a vampire Sookie story (even though I’ve written one or two shorts about that prospect). Sookie as vampire stories sometimes leave too much “humanity” in Sookie–or they don’t let her be “vampire enough.” It’s a difficult balance to do well. But this story does the notion of a vampire Sookie justice and achieves a really great balance. The author makes the brilliant move of making Pam Sookie’s maker. The first part of this story is angsty–which you know I love. After that, we get great action and romance as Sookie learns to embrace her new “life” among the undead. Give this story a try if you haven’t already. It’s angsty and fun all at the same time–a wonderful combination!

You’ll like it! And it wasn’t even a long read. I did it in a day—a day of divine procrastination from grading. Today is another such day, but I just keep telling myself that tomorrow’s a holiday. 🙂

OOH! Looking forward to this one! I’ll be starting it as soon as I edit Her Majesty, Queen of Area 5’s latest chapter for her new story. It’s one I think al will love as it’s a complete departure from all of her others. I hope that everyone gets as much entertainment from it as I have. Thanks for the recommendation! You’re the best!

Love your recommendations and how you give warnings (much appreciated!). This is one of the fun ones at least for me and a fab re-write of TB from early Season 6 I think. A great Sookie indeed, smart and powerful.
