Hello all,
I had wanted to have a definitive ETA for new writing when I gave you this update, but–sadly–I don’t have one. However, so many of you have shown the care to reach out to ask me how I have been that I felt the need to offer a few words–and a heartfelt thanks for your interest in my well-being.
So far, I’ve been able to avoid Covid. And I’m blessed to have a job that I can do from home.
I haven’t had a whole lot of time to write–since converting classes to the online format takes so much time and energy to do. And–to be frank–I’ve experienced a kind of depression in so much isolation. Having a pre-existing condition that makes me more vulnerable to Covid, I’ve definitely not gone out a lot, and when I do, I mask up and try to be as careful as I can.
I hope that you are all well and taking care of yourselves.
Now–here is the news that I do have about my writing. I AM working on The Engine, though it is slow-going. I have through Chapter 45 to Kleannhouse to Beta. I was hoping to have at least 8 chapters stored (or two-months-worth) of chapters before I began to post the story again in order to try to mitigate future delays. I’m hoping that things may calm down a bit at the end of this month, but there always seems to be a lot to do with my work. That said, I imagine that all of you are feeling the stress and strain of your own situations.
I feel blessed in so many ways, despite this trying time. And one of those blessings remains all of you.
All the best to you and your families,
Kat
Thanks for letting us know!! In these times, it is great to hear from those that have been silent. Unfortunately, in these times you pray that they are alright. Please stay safe!!!

Just an FYI in case you didn’t get her post
I’m so glad to hear you’re okay. I’ve been worried. Can’t wait for more of The Engine!

The most important thing is to stay safe! We will be here waiting when the time is right for you to share again.
Be safe and stay healthy –that is most important. The social isolation and the feelings of depression are real; please try to keep in touch with friends and family as much as you can. Please continue to communicate with us –we’ll keep you bouyed!
All the best! Pat
That’s all we can do is stay safe. It was really strange in the beginning when the world flipped out. It was very depressing.
It’s wonderful to hear from you,so glad you have not given up.I pray you stay healthy and am looking forward to your posts.
So glad you have not any health issues with this damnable virus. Continue to take care of yourself. I am quite excited to hear you have some more chapters written, can’t wait to see them.
Stay well. Hopefully this will be over soon.
Glad to hear you are physically healthy. Take the time you need for yourself. We’ll still be here for you. Hugs
It’s good to hear from you and thanks for reassuring us that you don’t have the COVID-19. I’m sorry to hear that the isolation is getting to you. Depression is nothing to sneeze at. Plus the extra work to teach online sounds like a PITA. You take care of yourself but stay in touch. You’re such a good writer we don’t mind waiting for you…. Suzy
I’m so happy to see an update. I was worried. I completely understand the depression. This has been so difficult. I miss seeing my friends, coworkers, and just doing normal things. It grates on you. But hopefully if we all do our part, we can back to a new normal. Hang in there. Thank you so much for checking in and letting us know you are okay.
So glad to hear from you and that you’re staying healthy during this time. I can understand feeling depressed though. Keep in touch and we’ll Try and keep you amused and uplifted. While I’m certainly looking forward to more chapters, just do what you need to do. We’ll still be here ❤️
I’m so happy to hear from you! And really glad you’re safe.
Look after yourself, physically and emotionally.
We will be here when you’re ready and able to write again.
Glad to read you and your family are ok. I didn’t think anyone can stress enough that remaining healthy in these dangerous times is paramount. As someone who has lost two longstanding family friends from the COVID-19 pandemic your health doesn’t just effect you. Be grateful and enjoy those around us and never take them for granted.
Está habiendo rebrotes, así que esto todavía no ha acabado. Ten mucho cuidado. Estoy agradecida que te encuentres bien. La depresión es normal por el encierro, al igual que los dolores de cabeza.
Mantente a salvo.
Good to hear you are well. We had to convert over to online as well. It IS a lot of work. Take care and stay safe.
So glad to hear from you and know your doing well. Don’t worry we will be here when you start posting again.
Great to hear from you and happy that you are well. It is odd going out of the house and the switch to digital is something that usually takes several years to get the kinks worked out of, let alone, let’s do it now. Thanks for updating us and stay safe.
I’m so glad to hear that you are safe and well! I certainly understand struggling with depression right now. I’ve been feeling it to some extent myself as well. In fact, reading E/S stories has definitely been helping me stay sane. Take your time writing though – you (and the rest of the fandom) have plenty of wonderful stories we can re-read while we wait!
Best to you & yours during these trying times as well, Kat. I’ve thought of you often over these last months, knowing you suffer from some of the same autoimmune illnesses as me (and many others in the fandom) that leave us pretty much housebound right now. Before the hot weather arrived, at least I was able to get out at some points during the day to do whatever gardening my body allowed. I find depression creeping in at times, but then remind myself I’m healthy (aside from all these illnesses) and fortunate that my husband remained ‘essential’ throughout. Still, it’s hard when you can’t see certain family members other than over video chats. My mom’s got dementia, so that confuses her more. Still, so many folks are facing far worse than we can even imagine & our hearts go out to them. We will get through this. We need to continue communicating with & supporting each other. May you continue doing well, and be safe. Thank you for the update. Take care!
Glad to hear you are well! Take care and be safe!
